Yes, I know trained dogs can also detect when someone is about to experience an epileptic seizure and warn the person to shelter in a safe setting, so they won't strike their head on a sharp table or whatever. My friend fosters Labradors in training to get them ready to assist folks like this, and also PTSD sufferers, burn victims, etc. It takes a couple of years to get a dog ready to graduate, and of course, dogs have shorter life spans than humans, but these animals render remarkable service in their service years.
