What if your story was published in a publication, but you feel it underperformed there and you'd like to try a rewrite. Do you contact the editor to notify them that you'd like to pull the piece for this purpose? (If so, would you then be obliged to give them first dibs on the revise?)Or do you leave it up there, as your new one will have different title, subhead, etc.? Or??
