The Medium Hamster Wheel

Yes! #Me too. What a relief to hear this said.

I’m new to Medium (though not new to writing) and so many successful writers here seem to be saying I should publish daily. One article I just read said a post should take me 20 to 40 minutes max. Writing and editing my humor pieces can take days, and yet they’re so short the eyeballs may never linger long enough for the algo to grant me a payout.

Is Medium the wrong playground for writers like you and me? But where is a better one? There’s so much I like here, too.

It’s early days for me. If I tire of the hamster-wheel production pace of Medium, I may need to jump off.
