Serious question: If what you advocate (complete decriminalization) was somehow implemented, do you think addicts could ever get off drugs? Or would most be alive but probably lifelong addicts?

I suppose at least they are alive to have a chance to try to quit down the road. In B.C. we are moving to decriminalize possession of small amounts of narcotics starting in January, and we have safe injection sites (though too few). We shall see what the outcome is in a few years.
