MSWord was always considered the standard for writers when I worked as a publications editor but I agree that it’s best to use PDF for attachments, both so the formatting remains intact for non-Word users and because the attachments are less easily altered by by recipients. When I switched to Mac, I couldn’t get the hang of Pages so I got Office 365 (Word for Mac). Can’t teach an old dog new tricks, and all that.
