Like California, B.C. is always at risk of devastating wildfires. The first nations' people wisely advise regular controlled burns to try to remove brush that fuels fires to "jump" to new sections. Governments sadly neglect these measures because these programs are labour-intensive and costly, but it's false economy to do so.
