I’m so glad you responded because you’ve made me think, Elisa. It hadn’t really registered with me that earth toilets would still be in use elsewhere on the planet. Also, despite writing the article, I hadn’t really put together that my own very stern grandfather was the product of a Victorian upbringing, I just thought it was his nature.
