I agree that how we treat unhoused people says more about us than them.

Homelessness is a challenging and complex issue to solve, or even discuss. My author-friend Lois Peterson has just published an excellent book for children 9 – 12 to help them better understand homelessness (its factors and solutions) called, SHELTER: HOMELESSNESS IN OUR COMMUNITY (Orca Press, available in Canada and the U.S.) It was enlightening for me as an adult too.
