Canadians are watching this evolving situation very carefully, James. There are no laws barring women in Canada from having an abortion, but it's also not a constitutionally protected right under our Charter of Rights and Freedoms, as some assume.

Scrapping Roe v. Wade would mean that Canada and the U.S. would on the surface be similar — neither country would have a Supreme Court case enshrining the right to abortion. But our jurisprudence has evolved so much that it's pretty unlikely that our top court would now say there's "no right." However, there's still unequal access to health care for those in under serviced regions.
