An interesting question related to free speech is the freedom to lie. I am reading a fascinating book by Aja Raden called “The Truth About Lies.” She explains that big lies, truly outrageous statements, are actually more likely to be believed and gain traction with people than small or medium-size lies. (Don’t tell people you own a boat, say you own an island). As humans we think, well no one would dare make such a huge claim if it weren’t true. Con men operate like this, and many fall for their claims.
